Tank Cleaning

a. Crude Tank Cleaning

Hydrojetting

Our experienced and highly trained industrial cleaning teams specialise in high pressure water jetting. We carry out high pressure jetting for a diverse range of applications; whether it’s simply to remove rust and scale, or to clean or prepare surfaces, we have many years of experience in all types of jetting work.

Using a wide variety of pressures and equipment means that we can utilise high and ultra-high pressure jetting for a number of industrial cleaning applications.

Automated Spray Cleaning

Chemcleanzio introduces a new mechanism to Tank cleaning that is easy and safe as compared to traditional methodologies of Hydro-jetting and manual cleaning. Our tank cleaning system works in two ways : 3D Nozzles are inserted both from top of the tank that pressure spray chemical solutions used for hydrocarbon removals or chemical cleaning and Passivation of the tank. The sparjers are supported by centrifugal pumps and chemical solution tank. This method proves to be extremely effective in terms of the quality of cleaning and also proves to be extremely safe since no manual intervention is required.

Traditional Acid Pickling

Stainless steel tanks must prior to use be chemically treated. The corrosion resistance of stainless steel is determined by a chromium-rich oxide film. As soon as this film has formed the material is designated as being passive. Austenitic stainless steel is supplied as passive by the supplier.

The precommissioning cleaning of Austenitic stainless steel types comprises in general three steps: degreasing, pickling and passivation. Degreasing is required to remove oil, grease and atmospheric pollution and to render the surface optimally accessible to the pickling agent. The pickling treatment removes completely iron particles and other surface contaminants to the surface resulting from earlier treatments or otherwise. After the pickling treatment the material is rinsed acid-free using low-chloride water. The pickling treatment renders the surface chromium-rich, the surface being in fact refined. Although the Austenitic stainless steel is, after pickling and when exposed to sufficient atmospheric oxygen, able to passivate spontaneously, closed systems such as tanks are generally treated chemically in order to passivate their surfaces.

Tank Decommisioning

Exceptional care must be taken when decommissioning and/or purging potentially unstable tanks where the risk of pollution and even explosion is at its highest.

Tank Purging

Chemcleanzio provides nitrogen tank purging services that displace the hazadous gasses making it extremely safe for man entry and decommisioning of the tank. This method is used where the Tank cannot be cleaned using chemicals or utilities are unavailable. Chemcleanzio can work with the Nitrogen availability in the plant or bring Nitrogen generators in order to complete the jobs.

b. Sour Water Tank Cleaning

Chemcleanzio provides Tank Hydrocarbon Decontamination and Degassing services.

The chemical circulation is performed at ambient temperature and applied from bottom to top through a 3D nozzle mounted through the vessel’s top manway access. The spray nozzle is used to eliminate the high H2S and ammonia concentrations present in the vessel’s head space. Upon completion, the treated water was processed through the wastewater treatment plant without delays.

This process is reported by plant personnel to have reduced their average outage time by at least 50%. The traditional decontamination was completed by the slow addition of potassium permanganate liquid over a 5-8 day period, resulting in extra time and additional disposal considerations being required.”
