Decontamination/Degassing Services

Chemcleanzio is a leader in the decontamination of hydrocarbon process equipment for entry, inspection, and maintenance including hot work in India. We use Entry-Safe proprietary chemistry and application that can achieve vessel entry in 8-12 hours by simultaneously de-oiling while eliminating pyrophoric iron sulfide (FeS), hydrogen sulfide (H2S), benzene, and other explosive gases (LELs).” There are four key stages involved in Decontamination Service.

1. Decontamination Planning

We attribute our success and zero recordable injuries to our excellent turnaround planning management. To aid in the safe and fast execution of the shutdown, customized decontamination procedures, drawings, and timelines are provided to ensure the decontamination portion of the shutdown is carried out as smoothly and efficiently as possible. A simplified process diagram is created that can easily track and understand the decontamination process.

A procedural manual is created for each planning job. Depending on the scope of the project, the manual may contain guidlines, product information, and a step-by-step guide along with a process hazard analysis to help eliminate potential releases or incidents.

2. De-oil Stage

The client will require to de-pressure and de-inventory their equipment. This will consist of the standard oil out and de-pressure step, your facility always conducts during the shutdown step in your procedure. During planning, Chemcleanzio will review the shutdown plan with your team and can/will help identify basic criteria that you will need to complete before our services can begin. In addition, Chemcleanzio will help to identify areas that may prove to be time saving for the turnaround. This will help make a smoother transition from your shut down procedure to the decontamination procedure.

3. Application Stage

Once the equipment is at the appropriate temperature and pressure, Entry-Safe chemistries can be added in adequate concentration at a controlled dose rate. The solution characteristics will be monitored by taking samples, observing their changes in appearance (side by side), foam testing, breaking the emulsion to determine how much hydrocarbon is being transported from the system. This will reflect the progression of the cleaning process and help all parties understand the progress and completion of the process.

4. Effluent and Disposal

Entry Safe chemistries have minimal impact on wastewater and the environment. The chemistry itself is biodegradable, wastewater friendly, and is non-exothermic. Our chemistry expends itself when reacting with contaminants minimizing the amount of chemistry sent to waste water. Furthermore, Entry safe has a self-breaking emulsion so when agitation is stopped, the oil and chemistry separate from the water without the need for additional emulsion breakers. However if there is a need to speed up the process, an emulsion breaker may be added.
